Just wondering...
How many images do you use to create a smooth looking animation?
Im using 8 images right now and it looks a bit choppy.
For the animation of the my player i used 30 image at 12 fps
The number of images is largely irrelevant, the frame rate is what determines 'smoothness'.
3 images at 5fps will look choppy, and 20,000 images at 5fps will still look choppy.

Depending on how you make the frames, some animation only has 3 frames it's still smooth.
