Is not Good that you post of this in GameSalad Forum!!! If you are a GS team member you would be happy?!?!?

At $2700 I have a feeling the GS team will be sleeping just fine.

Yeah, even though it does look like they have some cool features their price point is just ridiculous and way off even considering it (and what happens if you would want to set up you own rules that are not already built into their engine..)

I'm failing to see their target audience. They're made cloning games even easier than ever, and seem to be appealing to the lowest game-making common denominator. But then they're charging a premium price that only serious game-makers are going to be able to afford.

That said, it does include some pretty fundamental features that GameSalad really needs to get included asap, such as snap to grid and custom collision shapes.

Beyond that, the special effects features do look great and the set of training videos is something GameSalad should really look into including with each purchase of Pro. I'm sure they could contract one of a number of forum members to write a training course for a very modest amount (I'm including myself, but there are no shortage of proven educators on this forum).

Do a bit of background research on the founder and you will get your answer. B)

If you need a great marketing guy he will probably do a great job.

GameSalad really need to steal their custom collision system, at least in principle.

They seem to only really offer two shapes - squares and circles, but you can combine and resize them over your graphic to outline the active image area. This is essentially what we have to do in GS, but having it done invisibly "under the hood" using just a drag and drop interface, rather than complex constrains, would be amazing and something GameSalad could do within the scope of the physics engine they use.

I love working with logic, and so BuildBox holds no appeal to me at all.

    Agreed.
I think there are some cool features with BuildBox, but for $2,700, I'd have to pass.
I would put that money towards Unity.

Spending that kind of money without a trial would be a punt. There would be limits that are not immediately apparent that could severely restrict what can be created.
