Lagging on a very basic scene

I have made an ios game that consists of one scene all images amount to 275kb and there are around 25 rules I have created an adhoc version to test and it seems to be lagging slightly on iphone5 and massively on the ipad 1

any ideas as to why?

    Hard to tell with so little information. What type of game is it? How large and complex are your rules? More information will allow us to help narrow down the issue.

    its basically a jumping game the player jumps from platform to platform there are 5 types of platform and the rules are simple if the player is touching conditions

    Everything you're listing sounds nice and simple, but there must be a reason for the lagging. It's a mystery to you; meaning: everything you've considered is already known to be fine and not the source of the problem. Therefore, only mentioning select factors that you've already considered will not help anyone find the problem. You'll need to include your working file, or screenshots of rules. Something like that.

    Additionally, do you have multiple apps running in the background while testing your app? Applications that are large or heavy on the running side can greatly decrease the performance of your app.
