Level Transition: Scene Pause

I am trying to create an animated transition for my level ends, before it flows into the next scene. However, it leads to an unfortunate issue I havent figured out how to solve yet. The transition includes the screen being covered in black at the end, however, the level transition is not in the pause screeen that the animation occurs on, but instead in the level itself, in a boolean that the pause screen switches on. All of this works well enough, but has one problem. There is a moment where the pause scene vanishes before the scene twitches, so the transition just shuts off and you can see the level again for about a second. Is there a better way to manage the scene transition to avoid this?
