Sound Help

So, what I want to do is play sound across every screen, and I found out how. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you need your sound to be a music file instead of sound for it to work. So far I've gotten the .ogg files to play but it makes it a sound file. When ever I try to import .wav files it just converts it to .ogg, and when I import a .m4a file it doesn't play at all but it's a music file. Does anybody know what's wrong, or am I just being stupid?

Anyone?
I'm not all that familiar with the Windows version, but can you play that .m4a file outside of GameSalad? If not, you may not have the codec for playing that type of file on Windows. And if you can play it outside of GameSalad, you may want to try importing a different format, like .mp3 and see if you can make that a music file.
I can't play it outside of gamesalad, or at least with windows media player. And unfortunately, the windows version doesn't support mp3 files. I'll try downloading a codec for it.
Any suggestions for a codec?
You can try this - http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-Codec-Pack/3000-13632_4-10965840.html?tag=rb_content;contentBody
Or you can find something here - https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=m4a codec windows&safe=off
I can play m4a files in windows media player now, but it still doesn't work in gamesalad.
figured it out, I had to convert the file to m4a using another website
