Can't add in a psd file

I created a image in Photoshop and saved it to a file and my desktop but when I drag it it doesn't add the picture of the actor

    I imported a .psd file and it worked fine.

    It's better to save your images as a .png, though.

    How wouldn't that mess up the file it saved automatically in photoshop

    I just want my image to load for My actor i made my image online and then edited it in photoshop to get rid of the white backround now it won't load in gamesalad
