Question about Publishing to iTunes Store

in iPhone and Android Publishing

I built my apps using the Universal template at 1024x768. Will Apple approve my app if I publish it in that format using letterbox? I've read some things about them rejecting things that don't use the native resolution.

    They don't automatically reject it, but it is not recommended

    I'm assuming there is no easy way to change resolutions once the app is created.

    Is there a recommended way for dealing with this situation?
