Ripple Munch
Hi GameSalad friends,
I would like to present to you my latest game:
Ripple Munch
Ripple Munch is an “endless swimmer” with a engaging original game mechanics: touch the screen to create ripples in the water that push your character (a little cute piranha) in the opposite direction, carefully avoiding the jellyfish and other enemies while trying to eat as much fish as you can. The more ripples you make, the faster the piranha moves and the harder it gets to control, so be careful… it is not as easy as it seems! When enough fish is eaten the roles reverse for a little while and you can take revenge and eat your enemies.

I really like it and the look of it (after watching gameplay). Downloading now
Just downloaded. Really well finished, really like the style. Nice job!! How long did it take you to develop?
Looks great, love the artwork with this one.
In the video i think you should of included the role reversal where you eat your enemies.
Darren.
Thanks! It took me about a month (working a pair of hours at night each day) to release the first version, and another month of updates and new additions to the gameplay.
Hi, thanks, I am kind of proud for the art !
Yes, the video is from version 1.0, I have to update it!
Wow, very cool. Nice graphics, great gameplay. Wonderbahr!

The controls remind me of a game i started a while back but decided to release as a template on DBA due to lack of time although i like your gameplay better
One idea if you want to expand it could be to have reverse controls so it will pull instead of push if you run over a certain power up/down.
Video below "if" you need any ideas for updates.
Darren.
The game looks really fun great job.
Indeed very similar! Even the characters!... Well, now I don't feel very "creative" anymore -_- lol
I like your graphics and premise a lot! Why didn't you published it?
In Ripple Munch there are other fish to unlock with different gameplay as tilting, flapping (yes, that gameplay, not very proud). I was planning to have another fish with a similar mechanic as your jellyfish, but it didn't make the cut, didn't have the time to finish the graphics...
Even the art of book printing was invented twice at about the same time. So don't feel bad. Probably the idea sparked on you and backfired on Darrens head :P

Like everyone else has said, that looks great. Both the gameplay and the graphics, well done!

I like yours more so stop it with the not feeling creative you have a very nice game and should be proud.
I made mine ages ago (November 2011) and didn't release because I couldn't find the time to make all the levels so it sat on my desktop for months doing nothing, like many devs I have another 10-20 of these started but not finished projects.
Mine was more of a "zen" slower pace but yours looks perfect to me and will suit a bigger audience.
Darren.
thanks, you are very kind! now I hope people start thinking that way too and downloads numbers get better!
I really think you should release your game, maybe with just a few levels in the first version, wait to see how it goes from there!
Looks really nice. As everyone said, I love the art style.
Any tips for promoting it? So far my downloads (and iAds earnings) are almost null!
Woah nice going! Very nice looking game you've got there!
Downloads are hard to come by these days. I'd send your game trailer to as many review sites as possible. A social Web page can also be very helpful.

Amazing artwork @Chechesoft ! Are all those made in Photoshop or do you use something else? Any tips in creating stunning graphics like that?
Thanks @calebdomingo, I model and animate the characters in 3DS Max, render each frame in png and edit them later with photoshop. For the backgrounds and 2D artwork I use Illustrator and Photoshop.
I love da Music.. Why does not the scoring system work :S.. I played at ipad 2

Is not working? How come? I am not aware of the issue, could you please explain what the problem is?
Thanks @Chechesoft ! I really think with the right PR and marketing, your game will sell like hotcakes.
Nice game with a great art style. Good job!

Great Game @Chechesoft
Been playing it for a while, left you a nice five star review in the Australian Store, when ever it decides to show up. Keep the updates coming
Nice game .. but few issues .. first the prize button does not do anything.. just like a dummy button... also i noted few graphics that are pixelated.. like the button, may be you need to add bigger png graphics so that graphics are not pixelated. hope u understand..

Hi, thanks. About the issues you are encontering:
-Is the Prize button you refering the one with the "cup" icon? It will only work once connected to game center, if no connection available it will do nothing.
-Yes, Some graphics looks blurred in non retina iPad (in retina devices theres no such issue). Its a problem I could have avoid if used sizes divisible by four, as I learned later. I will try to correct this in the future.
Thanks again, and please if you find any more issues let me know.
Nice stuff ! If I had one small criticism it would be that the ripple noise (sounds like a chime/celesta) is sometimes out of key with the music, it would be much nicer if pitched correctly.
Right now the pitch of the ripple noise is random, It would being awesome if I could made it sound in key with the music, but really I have no idea how to archive that in gamesalad.
At first I tried to make a predetermined note be played with each touch as to make a nice tune, but I am not very good with music, and it will not sound good with the music on.
Anyway, I really prefer playing the game with no music and headphones. Try it! just with the background sounds and fx it is kind of relaxing :P
If you send me the ripple sound I can work it out for you if you want, pretty sure a simple piece of maths would generate random pitches that are all in key/tune.
Upload the sound to Mediafire or some other file hosting site and post the link . . .
Hi @Chechesoft I say very nicely done as well.
