I submitted my game on may 17th so it's been 7 days counting the day I submitted, and the status "waiting in review" has stayed the same throughout. Is this an average wait? I thought it would be around 3-4 days. Let me know how long your app took to be accepted or rejected. Thanks

My recent update took about 3 days, and games are usually longer.

Oh no! Should I reject the binary?

my last update took 7 days to go to "in review" then only 6 hours to be approved.
the time is very random. just have to wait they do their thing.

Our last game was submitted May 13th, went into review late on May 20th, was approved May 21st.

before christmas 14 days was the average with some games taking 20, so 7 days is pretty good :) sometimes it goes faster than others, it all depends on how many were submitted around the same time.

don't fret! if you reject / resubmit the counter starts over!

seems at the mo to be taking 5-7 days waiting. But once it actually goes into review, seems to be taking 1-2 days. (or indeed a number of hours...our last took around 4 hours, but 7 days waiting)

I'm confused. Is this iPad or iPod Touch / iPhone review times?

It's such a treat to develop for the iPad. The review wait times seem to be shorter and there's so much room to work... bigger screen, better processing power. Although, my next app has been in review for almost a day now and this thread does make me a bit concerned. I'm not sure if I'll be ready for the May 28 International launch, but that's basically up to Apple's review team right now.

Send them a nice email saying 'I understand you guys are busy, but please could you push this game through, just this once, in time for the launch?'

Seriously - It's how I got Xmas 2097 out before, er, Christmas after getting it in two days before Xmas eve!

    Hope that helps,

    QS :D

Something interesting occurred to me. What if the reason that the review times are longer is because the games are more fun to play? Somewhere in the world, someone is playing my game. If the game is really good, would you be in a hurry to approve it? HA HA!

Interesting thought, but considering their apple employees.... I'd say they probably wouldn't slack off....

What I would consider though is if you have a really long game to play through it might take longer because they have to go through all of it first, make sure theres no bugs, unintended use etc.

Ok finally approved!!!! YES!!! I just threw myself like a 10 minute party lol. This goes to the people with featured apps: How long after your app acceptance did apple tell you that your app will be featured? Just wondering...
  • chosenonestudioschosenonestudios Member Posts: 1,714
Most of the time it doesn't get featured until a bit after its been out...... They don't tell you when it gets featured.......

Ok, I see... Also does it really matter what day you put your app on the store? Right now mine is submitted for this Friday. Should I just make it for tomorrow or is Friday a good date?
  • chosenonestudioschosenonestudios Member Posts: 1,714
I honestly don't think it matters, some others might disagree, but If I remember correctly the day it gets approved, your supposed to set it to show up for tomorrow......

If anybody disagrees with this, speak up, but I think thats what your supposed to do.... Apples really shaky and opaque so sometimes its really hard to know..

My game has been waiting in review since the 19th. So maybe in two more days...

@chosenonestudios - According to this checklist, you're supposed to set the availability date to the date it was approved. firemaplegames also talks about this in the How long before apps show on category list? forum topic where he suggests the day of or the day after.
  • chosenonestudioschosenonestudios Member Posts: 1,714
Oh, but, at least for me it takes like 12-24 hours before it shows up after its been approved so if you set it the day of you'd waste your new app coverage
  • JackBQuickJackBQuick Member Posts: 524
That's good to know. I'll be sure to set it for the next day then. Thanks!
