Help please!

I saw this video where he shows how to swipe left right up and down.

Here when he selects up the actor starts going up, and in the middle(before it reaches to the top of the screen) when he selects left the actor stops going up, and continues left.
But what i want is, once we swipe it up it should go up no matter how many other directions we swipe it again. Once we swipe it up it we should not be able to swipe it back left or right. It should directly reach the direction where it is swiped. Please help me how to do it.
