Android piracy

So I've read some old threads about people getting their games pirated on Google Play. You guys know how it is now?
Sure - if someone really want to steal your game they probably could anyway, but I found this article that sounded promising:

Any thoughts on the subject?

Sounds like it makes an internet connection required to play.
That may reduce paying market. I don't have regular wifi, so I've only ever really bought and played stand-alone games on my iPod. I don't have a smartphone though. Maybe people behave differently with those since there's an expectation of it to be connected to something.
I would want to see some data which shows sales increasing after adding anti-piracy. I suspect people who are pirates would just pirate something else, so you wouldn't actually gain any customers. You would just lose the anti-DRM crowd and anyone who gets their games through home internet/cable connection to computer (I don't know if Google Play has a Desktop iTunes equivalent).
If given the choice now, personally I would opt out.

Thanks for your answer.
Yes that might be the case. Interesting to hear if anyone on the forums has experience with this.
