Seeing as there is no prize available, a contest like this will not appeal to anyone.

I can understand that.
Most people wont do anything for fun anymore. They always want a little more.
Maybe I should have called it a challenge.

Thing is, @Thunder_Child, I'm working with GameSalad not only because I enjoy that I can make games, but also because I hope to be able to make a living off of it. Also, keep in mind that GameSaladisI $300/year for Pro.
This is true. There also a slew of people who like to do things for fun and this contest is available to non pro members as well. My first contest was to get even us noob to try and do things that are outside of their capabilities...and that was well known. If you dont want to be part of the contest that is fine.

@Thunder_Child
I 110% agree there is a group of people who do this stuff for fun. Plus contests are worth taking part in even if you're in this for the money as you learn so much just by challenging yourself to achieve something. Plus it can help break up a much bigger personal game project.
(The 1 hour contests I setup were doing ok.. I'll do another one soon).
Good luck with the contest...
@StormyStudio thanks. I like that additude.

Sorry, I was just sharing my honest opinion...
@Thunder_Child thanks for including my students! They are pumped to participate even for only bragging rights!
@StormyStudio thanks for backing this contest!
@JodyMitoma a quote for you: “What does it mean to be the best? It means you have to be better than the number two guy. But what gratification is there in that? He's a loser—that’s why he's number two.” ― Jarod Kintz. FYI, hope your not afraid of losing to my high school students…..
I like the idea of a contest just for fun. I've done a few now and then when I have time, it's a nice break from 'working' and can help with just letting the creativity flow. Not sure I can do this one, but keep it up!

Sounds fun!
Edit:
@Thunder_Child
Scratch what I've said. Sorry frustration just eased in me again.
@mariolouis
Submissions have already started. I think there are 9 so far. I know most if not all would be from a high school game design class. It allows them to participate in something other than making a grade. Some props for best of...which is what a contest is for anyways. I could look at all the games in the arcade if I wanted ideas...and...Im 44 years old. Pure gamer. Game Clan leader of [51/50] 30 members across the world :-). Some of us went from playing games...to building game maps...mods to now creating the games themselves.
I only originally created the first contest because I saw a few people complaining GS is full of non veterans and its not fun anymore. I stepped up to the plate. So far some people like the idea but seem to want a prize like a years subscription to GS...lol. When I said no its for fun...then it was all about no prizes or stealing code...which isnt the case. It will probably be the last.
Personally Im about $2500 in the hole to be able to play with GS...if I make money great...if not....like my wife said the other night....you have a hobby. If Im one for hobby there are others...maybe Im the only one.

@Thunder_Child, I consider myself a hobbiest as far as game dev goes too so you're not alone. I have a full time job by day and do game dev stuff primarily for fun. If I make a few bucks at it, all the better but I'm not hard core by any means.
