I need to know the size of the assets used in a premade template
I recently bought a pre-made template in the GS Marketplace, but there is no information to go along with it. I want to replace the assets, and expand upon the game, but I'm stumped at the first part. I'm new to Gamesalad, and recently bought a Mac so that I could work easier with the online tutorials I keep watching since most are done with Mac.
Is it possible to remove the assets from a completed .gameproj file so that I can know what I need to be working with? I'd rather not play guessing games with this and waste time.
The pre-made template was for: Bullet Parade. Its a very interesting game/app that works fine on my iPad, so if you created it and are reading this, thank you very much. I have some ideas on how to change and expand this, so I figured it would be a great intro game for me to work with.

Right click the gs file, click show package contents. In there there should be a folder called images (maybe assets, I can't remember). You can see the images in there. You can also select the images from in the creator (cmd a) then hold option and drag them to a folder on your desktop (or another location)

Not all templates are newbie friendly, don't just dive into a template without having any knowledge of gamesalad. Your not going to learn over night.
My best suggestion since you already brought a template is to take it apart and put it back together in working condition, that will help you get a feel for it.
You can also get ahold of the person who made the template if you have questions.
I'm sorry to tell you but that's exactly what you should be doing. It's literally the best way to learn how to use GameSalad. Most if the time you'll find out faster than waiting around on someone to tell you yes that idea will work.
If you have an idea try it. You cannot learn to innovate any other way. Yes I know that pulling the images from a game project is far from innovative. But it's the habits and knowledge you learn from "wasting your time" that will benefit you in the future.

Double click on the image you want to know the size of . . . it will open into Preview so you can view its details like disk space usage and dimensions and so on.
BjandtheKats & Socks you two are amazing. Thanks so much for answering. Im new to the Mac world and you just helped me a lot.
Thanks again and have a great week!
Mounted88 I've tried a few smaller templates before and have played around a good bit with it on windows so I thought I would be ok, I was wrong, but still trying. This template is way more complicated than I'm used to! Im hoping to do what you said sort of and dumb it down, then slowly make it how it was while hopefully learning. It's daunting, but interesting. Sadly the creator of the template hasnt gotten back to me at all yet.
Thanks again!
We have a free tool that can do this (and a lot more) but we can't post links so sent you a PM.
