So please watch this short video explanation below, showing my problem.
It's stopping me from making any changes to my game, and what I've done so far took SO long!

@callumhurley@remasteredmedia.co.uk , what happens when you make the change, then first save, close and open the project up again before you run it? Just to give GameSalad a chance to unmuddle its undo stages it stores.
I know it is not a "solution", but sometimes works.

A new Windows Creator is on the horizon.
Just tried, same problem
I also just tried removing the actor entirely from the scene, changing the image, then re-placing them on the scene. Same thing occurs, I can't seem to change ANYTHING in the game!
Do you have versions to go back to which were still stable?
Then build up again from there if it is not too far back?
Sometimes the projects get corrupted, so every save I make always gets a new file name (on Windows and Mac).
Oh yes, I've recovered a stable version. (The video was a backup of a stable version to show what happens).
I think it's a problem with the image. When I change the image to no image, the change is applied and all works fine. So it must just be an image problem.
Also you said your project is quite big. Have you had a look in Taskmanager how much ram gets used by GS while you are working with it? Might be interesting to see if you are hitting some limit there with the new image. Especially after a bit of editing GS bloats up a bit in memory.
@callumhurley@remasteredmedia.co.uk well stick with standard PNGs as other formats will become iffy going forward with the new GS graphics engine, there are some sticky threads about this.
Why is the file so big? Is it a big background image? in the video you were changing just a border.

Okay. And the image was made as a background image, then I decided to use it for the border.
@callumhurley@remasteredmedia.co.uk then definitely try to make it smaller, a 7MB PNG probably take 50MB or more of RAM when running.
Try to make your image dimensions fit the actors according to the retina specs (2x the height and width of the actor). Unless you use tiling, then obviously just match the shortest side of the actor.

Very, VERY exciting. I've been having my Game Salad Creator (Windows) crash WAY too frequently as of late. It seems that the more work you put into a project, the more it crashes. System memory problems it looks like. Game Salad seems to take up way too much ram, even though I've got 6GB's of the stuff. What a drag.

Done, thanks!

@callumhurley@remasteredmedia.co.uk well that is good news and sound less serious than I expected.
Then its just a matter of experimenting with the image format. Which do you use?

I originally used PNG. I just converted it to JPG and used JPGMini to shorten the fil size to 330KB (the original image was 7MB).
That initially worked. Then I changed the actor to "Tile" the image. Then it broke it again.
