Why am I getting error No .app bundles found in the package

Hi guys, not sure where I'm going wrong but I'm getting an error when trying to upload through application loader

ERROR ITMS-9000: "No .app bundles found in the package" at SoftwareAssets/SoftwareAsset (MZItmspSoftwareAssetPackage)

Everything else seems to work fine when sending it through.

I've tried with both the unsigned download that you get when clicking Download App and also the regular zip file when you click on Download at the top left of screen.

I've also read through other posts on this and the ones relating to the error haven't been answered.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jason

hi tenrdrmer, Ive tried both files that GS has to download within my publishing admin.

they are ufoblaster.zip which I get when I click the download link next to publishing help link and this one gtXL-L4_EeOD8iIACqQXVA__UfoBlaster.app.zip which is the unsigned download.

Both of them have given me the same error. Am I not downloading the correct ones?

how are you packaging your upload for apple?

You should just be compressing the .app file gs gives you

    woohooo, its uploading to itunes.

I needed to go back into the provisioning profile and make a distribution profile.

I totally missed the part about having to do that all over again, after I'd done it the other day for a development profile. Guess that happens when you're staring at the screen for hours on end

well I got passed that part, I changed the provisioning profile that I was using to see the apps on my devices to an IOS one I have, but now getting the error

ERROR ITMS-9000: "Invalid Provisioning Profile. The provisioning profile included in the bundle au.com.jasdon.ufoblaster [Ufo Blaster.app] is invalid. [Missing code-signing certificate.] For more information, visit the iOS Developer Portal." at SoftwareAssets/SoftwareAsset (MZItmspSoftwareAssetPackage)

Do you also have your distribution certificate installed? Does Xcode show any issues with your profile?

I got these warnings at the end of the upload, not sure exactly what it means or if its going to be an issue.

ah that makes sense, I got an email from itunes stating the following

We have discovered one or more issues with your recent delivery for "Ufo Blaster". Your delivery was successful, but you may wish to correct the following issues in your next delivery:

Version Mismatch - Neither CFBundleVersion ['1.01'] nor CFBundleShortVersionString ['1.01'] in the Info.plist match the version of the app set in iTunes Connect ['1.00'].

If you would like to update your binary for this app, you can reject this binary from the Binary Details page in iTunes Connect. Note that rejecting your binary will remove your app from the review queue and the review process will start over from the beginning when you resubmit your binary.

Im guessing from that, its not major and can be rectified when I do the next update

@aussiefaz‌ Just a side tip, you said "the regular zip file when you click on Download at the top left of screen", in your original post. That's not your app. That is the GS project that you uploaded to the GS Publisher. So, if ever you mess up or loose a xyz.gameproject file, if you have uploaded a version to GS, you can always retrieve it... unless you have deliberately deleted it from Publisher. Think of it as a backup of your project on the GS Publisher server.

    Thanks Philip,

I think after I reread everything for the 2nd time, it started coming to me.

Im also thinking there is so much to learn in doing this, that its really easy to miss important information as you go. I've always liked to do things on the fly, as opposed to read and then make, I like to read and make at same time.

Thanks for everyones help, it made me re-read everything again which definitely helped
