Had a long think about this and decided to call it a day on the forums.

I've spent over 3 years serving the community with lots of project help, free templates, tools, demo projects, competitions, over 80 templates on GSMarket and I've lost count of the emails and PM's I've returned from members of the forum reaching out because no one has answered them.

I did ask about a moderator post but was turned down which has made the decision easier.

I've been in a constant battle over forum rules recently (not the reason I'm quitting) and it seems silly that we have a free to enter prize draw raffle on ATM to win a free pro gamesalad license but we can't post here because of the forum rules about linking back to a 3rd party site, so we're giving away a free pro gs license and not allowed to tell you about it

It's been fun and I will miss the forum but it seems my services are no longer needed so goodbye, have fun and good luck with your games.

I will still be busy over at DBA so pop in and see us some time and I will be popping by from time to time to announce new games and see what your all up to.

Completely agree that the current forum rules about 3rd party sites are totally and utterly absurd. Perhaps it's time to compliment the official GS forums with a 3rd party forum. Can't think of anywhere better than the most prominent 3rd party site

I think that rules are necessary, of course, but it's all got slightly bitter and over-serious lately round here....

Although I would be dead against having anyone who runs a 3rd party site to also be moderator, it is a pitty that GS does not understand that it is exactly the little economies that spring up around it which and makes it feel alive and acts as the best promotion. SAP has become one of the biggest software companies purely on this model.

Darren, unfortunately you were sometimes a bit to heavy handed or obvious with your marketing on the forums, but you pulling out will definately damage the popularity of GS in an indirect way.

p.s. this does not diminish the value of those who offer so much of their time for free support and tutorials!

This is not the first time Darren had an issue, I remember something else from before. It is a shame but at least he not leaving completely as there is always DBA. GS has lost quite a few decent people over the years and yet still do nothing about it to keep them. It is a shame like I said but maybe a wake up call that GS needs.

Such a shame to see this mate! Big loss for the forums and community as a whole! Not personally sure on the over-serious activity recently (I didnt think the forums were out of control).
We push so many helpful members away who put countless 'support' hours in for free and create tons of demos and videos, without these people it stifles the work produced from the GS users and creates them as a company a hell of a lot more support tickets!

Definitely hope you change your mind after a break and come back!

Well this is a MASSIVE shame.. Not best pleased at all. I hope at the very least you still still post now and then on general game discussion or share what games your creating. Also your GS Merger tool along wth a few others are such an essential part of a good gamesalad workflow (please keep it up to date) its a little crazy that a company so beneficial to all those new to using gamesalad is having to take a step away from the active users. Lastly gamesalads own templates marketplace is horrible to navigate and use. Which only makes it all the more ridiculous. .

Sorry to hear this. It's been a bit of a war scene here lately and I see a lot of veterans leave which is a shame. I most of the times try to look at it from a distance because I had my fights on other fora in the past and learned a lesson there. We are all strong of character and sometimes collide but I hope not all veterans run in the end. Anyway, good luck and hope to see you around here sometime.
