i swear you are just asking for me to stop making free templates??
if thats the case, then i will stop. just stop taking everything out on me.
Don't stop making free templates. That would be very sad. Just expect some backlash if you offer templates of established games. And to be fair to @Socks, he gives just as hard a time to the guys at DBA and GSH too.
and with what Armelline has mentioned, i cannot do anything about the checkout option for the site where you have to provide an email adress ect.
but just do what everyone is doing at our site at the moment, they just type stuff like this for the email:
effuiehsbufbsbb@gmail.com
Well you could just put a direct download link in the description :P
@Socks our paid template 'drawing pro' is the only example you can give isn't it?
Yes I did use your free template and after your complain about the art use I did change the art. now you are also complaining about the code? if you give away free templates this is something that could happen. next time if you give away a free template add something like copyright socks, Do not use this template for resell.
also stop complaining because the template isn't for sale anymore.
hopefully there are more people who like our free templates. we are planning to make more templates but only if more people are interested in them.
The Free Templates can be downloaded here: http://www.gsinvention.com/free-demos.html
I like the templates and appreciate whoever produces them. Thank you for what you do. It is appreciated. They are a beneficial start and allow the additional ideas and art to be introduced into the template and then get us started.

Well this thread has gotten a little out of control. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets closed.

I'm not particularly complaining about anything specific to be honest, just the whole culture of copying that seems to be becoming the norm, sure GSINVENTION has taken pieces of other people's artwork and code, copied designs and so on, this has been mentioned before, but what I was really questioning was that GSINVENTION should be credited for someone else's IP ? Doesn't seem right to me.

Not at all, there's no need, absolutely everything I have ever uploaded to this forum is free to use, the intention has always been to help people using GameSalad, to help people make apps and games - if I think something might be useful I'll happily share it, it's just that when people take these projects that have been given away for free and then use them to make templates (rather than for their own games) - to be sold for profit - it just seems to go against the spirit of sharing.

Like I say I'm not particularly complaining about any one thing, I was more interested in the idea that someone could copy, pixel for pixel, the work of other people and then feel comfortable will having it credited to themselves by a third party ! It seems like a new frontier in the culture of copying !

to be honnest Socks you are very narrow minded.
with code, sure it can be coppied, look at flappybird for example, lots of people have re made the code for that game just like we have, but you obviously want to take it all out on us.
You've not said why you think I am 'very narrow minded', you've just stated that I am narrow minded and then gone on to say that you are amongst a group of people who have copied someone else's work, are these two comments related ?
No one is taking anything out on anyone, returning to the original point - I'm questioning the idea that GSINVENTION should be credited with someone else's work.

i am a very busy guy still in college, and yet you still have to be a complete fruit pop who loves to make others feel bad for something they didnt do. just stop taking everything out on me.**
Lol ! ) Again, this is all irrelevant, you are at college, very busy too, and I am a big mean 'fruit pop' who loves to make others feel bad ? Lol.

with the credit, i said "No need to credit us, but if you wish so, you can"
Yes, I read the post - and challenge the idea of people taking credit for someone else's work.

I wouldn't even say I am giving anyone a 'hard time', I am simply challenging the idea that work should be attributed to someone who has not made it - the Flappy Bird images are plainly copied, so I find it puzzling why someone would feel they are entitled to a credit for having copied someone else's work ?
Alot of us enjoy these templates. Im am pretty new to gamesalad and i like to download the templates to see what attributes and rules are in the template to make it work. It helps me understand the system better. I think your doing outstanding work. It is very nice of you to take the time to do the work in gamesalad and then spend even more time uploading the files. Keep up the good work!!!

To play devil's advocate a little here... The moment something is created it is protected by copyright. Just because something if offered freely on a website doesn't mean you're free to use it however you want. This is the distinction between gratis and libre. When @Socks posts a template - or you do for that matter - for free on these forums, he's posting it with no charge. Unless he specifies otherwise, he isn't posting it with no restrictions. The default is "free for personal use" and the right to use it for commercial purposes cannot be inferred. You do not have unrestricted use of things posted on these forums unless the poster specifies such.
Something to bear in mind, both as a consumer of free templates and a provider of free templates.
