Co-produce game with another company

So, I´ve yet to release my game. It is about 60% completed and I´m starting to look for ways to make my game visible for the masses. Its a hard job, specially for a noob like me. I´ve been out on different forums and announcing the game. A couple of days ago I actually got an e-mail from an indie studio working with promoting indie games. They seem to work closely with apple also. Any way, they asked me if I´d like them to promote my game. So I´ve tried to search for something like this in the forums but without success.

So this might be a stupid question. But hey, how should I know? I guess what I wonder is if Gamesalad allows this, or if there is any kind of restrictions for me, as an indie dev, to let another company/studio promote my game?

Thanks in advance,

Gamesalad is a tool to make your game. Gamesalad don't have any rights or claims to your games. You can promote yourself or get others to promote as you wish. The only claim gamesalad will have is if you are not a pro account user at time of production as gamesalad will insert ads in your game and make revenue of it. But even then you can do/promote it how you please. Although if your serious about your game then yoh should go pro before release. It has so many advantages. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your answer. Really appreciate it! Yes, it helped and clarified a lot. So yeah, basically, when Im done with the game, I will go pro! :)

    Thanks again, and take care,

Be wary if they want money. I get emails on occasion from companies wanting to promote my games and they are clearly complete scams.

Investigate the company and be sure it's legit.

Can't stress this enough! We don't even allow these people to advertise their promotion services here because more often then not Thames are some sort of a scam just trying to ride on any success your game has with no real work of their own.

I would also call BS on any "small indie studio" having any close connections with apple. Apple won't even acknowledge they work closely with any companies and the ones that do get that treatment have a bit more money in the bank than most any indie developer.

I'd want to know their apps and references to apps they have helped out like this. No money upfront and a damn small percentage of the actual sales. More than likely they will want 50% minimum of revenue.

OK, thanks. Yeah, tell me about it, I´m trying to investigate the company. I am a bit worried, it just feels too good to be true, but on the other hand they seem really, really legit. They´ll take 30% after Apple. And no money up front. I´ll keep my IP 100%.

I don´t know. I added them on my TestFlight team. And answered a few questions on a sheet... So I´m waiting for his reply... I´m not sure how to proceed. But it sure feels tempting to go along! But I´ll wait and see.

Have you guys had any companies that seemed really legit, after you? I mean, can I ever be completely sure they won´t, excuse my french, screw me over? Again, they are not asking for money at all, and seem to have had many successful apps on App Store.

Thank you guys so much for your replies,
    /Seb
