Business proposal

Hi Everbody,

I have a great concept for a game. It transends the traditional iphone/android games. For this i'm in search of a collaborating partner that have already deceloped several games and is experienced. This business proposal is a 50/50 deal. It's a fairly simple game, with a lot of potency. If you are interested and have some spare time left to develop a money machine, send me a message.

Greetings, jeremy

Not being funny, but no one here will collaborate with you. Main reason is no one knows who you are. The amount of spammers and scammers we have come across people only trust those who have contributed to the gs community and are well known in these forums. Unless you have a portfolio and proof of any other success, you are on your own.

But good luck with your idea

And why dont do it alone? You are not experienced? Then 50/50 is not fair. You might just hire someone then

@jeremyjon 50% to do all of the work?! Everyone and their brother have a "great" concept for a game or app. How do you add to the process? And if it's a money machine, why not hire someone to develop it for you, and reap the profits?

The bottom line is there are three possibilities here:

    1. Your game idea is actually great, and is simple enough that you can make it yourself in GameSalad. If it's this one, fantastic! You can start work on your new game! Or contract someone to make it for you - if it's a simple idea it shouldn't cost you more than a few hundred bucks to make.

    2. Your game idea is actually great, but too complicated for one person to do on their own, or too complicated to do in GameSalad. If it's this one, nobody in their right mind would agree to do it for 50% of the profits. It would be a huge investment of time and energy and they would be providing all of the work and you would be providing only an idea. As @Team6Labs says, if you have that much confidence in your idea, contract someone to make it for you. That way you keep 100% of the profits.

    3. Your game idea isn't actually that great. If this is so, nobody is going to want to work with you on it, especially not for 50% of the likely non-existent profits.

I really don't want to be discouraging, but I'm willing to bet everybody here has at least 5 ideas they're working on in some way and they think are great, and at least one idea they KNOW is great but is too big a project for them to realistically tackle. I know I do.

My advice is to spend some time learning GameSalad and get started on that game yourself.

If you're dead set on a profit-splitting collaboration, be prepared to drop that 50% down to 10% or at most 20% if all you're bringing to the table is an idea, and be prepared for a lot of people to say no even then.

Merged... please don't make multiple threads.

Also would like to echo the others in here. you have been on the forums for all of a week. what are you credentials to be coming here looking for a 50/50 partner instead of hiring someone to build your idea?

Hi @jeremyjon Welcome to GameSalad and the Forums.

I totally agree with @timolapre1998 (when I was commenting on the other thread before it was merged ;-) )

    - quite frankly, ideas can be "a dime a dozen" - the real work is to bring them into reality, to actually make the game in this case.

So similar to what the other guys are saying: if your game idea is as simple as you say, I'd recommend taking time out to learn GSC firstly via the Manual then maybe some of the many video tutorials about, you'll soon pick it up and produce the whole game by yourself (then you can have 100% of the profit).

Thank you all for the comments and feedback. I know my post might look somewhat naïve.

The reason for me was because i am actually looking to hiring someone and build it for me, as i dont personally know any skilled game developers.

@gyroscope‌ , ik might just do that instead than.

    Thanks people

Asking for 50% is quite steep if someone else is doing the work for you. Asking someone to do all of the work for free and hopefully get back profits from a "money machine" is a dicey proposition for anyone here and is technically against forum rules (asking for free coding).

Here's what I suggest... if you do want to hire someone, you really have two options: (1) post a new discussion thread in the Coding/Programming or Logic Services subforum and make it clear that this is a paid request or (2) find some of the more experienced and trusted members of the community and contact them via private message to see if they are available. Option 2 is probably better done after you've been here for quite some time and have a sense of who to contact and how to approach them.

You posted this in the "Announce Your Game!" subforum (?) so I'll go ahead and close this. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a private message.
