Actors Don't Appear On Preview Screen

Hello everybody, I am having an extremely frustrating issue where the actors do NOT appear on the screen. Whenever I drag and drop an image into the scene they show, but when I click the green arrow button(play button) the actor does not appear. The transparency is set to 0 so that shouldn't cause a problem. In addition, I have double checked all of my rules.Still confused? Think of an issue where you are digging a hole in sand right by water, the hole you just dug is now filled back up again, except in this case it is the opposite of that . Could this be a possible bug? Any help is greatly appreciated.
