I paid $300 and honestly I'm not getting my money's worth. No monetization, for Android, infrequent updates, and a mentioned earlier the cookbook still hasn't been updated since Mobclix went bankrupt. I think I'm going to look for an alternative once my membership is up.

At least you figured it out in the first year... I spent another $299 on promises that have never appeared...

I honestly love the creator for windows and it's a great way for me to do some creative stuff I couldn't do before! I'm just super into the best network(android) in my opinion and I think it could do nothing but improve gs as a whole. But I can't code so can't complain too much when someone else doesn't. But keeping fingers crossed for a good update one day

@CodeWizard. You carry a tune well... Even if we can't hear it!

Imagine this to the tune of the Batman theme music... "Da na na na na na na na Puck Man!"

Any chance you can do Spider-Man?

There are so many multiple posts and comments all over the forum about monetization that it is difficult to find a definitive answer.

After trawling through the forum I have concluded that the only way to make Ad revenue at present, without using the nightly build, is to build iOS apps and use iAd.

The only other ways to make money are to charge for the app or include in-app purchases.

    Am I correct?

    Thanks.

Great news, glad to hear the next stable build is actually getting some attention. Can't wait for it. Keep up the great work!

As mentioned offen from me I think the biggest failure the game salad team is doing they don't focus on important stuff. Some nice stuff here some there but this takes to much resources for the team. Why not just focus on the MAC as development platform? If the mac version would be ready and fine you could start the creator for Windows. But no we wann everything. But nothing really 100% great. I am sure they try to be the best. But at all for me some times Gamesalad does not act like a company. For example the play heaven reports. Until now no real reporting. We get some file (or not, or very late, or wrong payments, than the right payments) and we can not proof on our own. We have to trust on Gamesalad. Feels some times a bit strange.
But what is absolute unacceptable are two things:

1.) They jump on the Mobclix ship when it was already half sinked. We lost a lost of money in this. And GS should know before that there are a lot of issues with non paying developer. But they don`t care. Maybe it was the easiest and quick and dirty solution for them to implement.

2.) Much more worser, since them they don`t get it done to implement a new ad partner for Android. I can`t believe this could be so hard! But here we come again to the point. They don`t focus on the important part.

Yes we are long time GS user. We even pay the 2000 USD up amount for the pro membership in the beginning. And yes we make more money with our games than we spend for the GS membership for sure. But it could be more. Our android games are running well but we lost first money because of Mobclix and now because of there is no way to earn anything. Is this fair to deal with long term customers? I don`t think so. And I am sure I will not get any official GS answer as I don`t mention how hard the team works and how great everything is. Sorry for my sarcasm!

I'm glad to see the bugs getting fixed, maybe I can finally stop working in 10.3 and upgrade.

Not that I'm not disappointed that things haven't gone quicker, as I'm also paying for pro, but they really have to perfect key things before they can put a lot of the cool stuff in we're waiting for.

Once they get this update done I think the next updates will be a lot smoother. They are biting off a huge chunk with this one it seems.

An unstable multiplayer provider/bankrupting ad companies isn't something they were expecting.

A small google search shows that mobclix was already month not paying developers before the integration was done. You don't need to be an expert to see the issues.

No but It was expected they were going to work that out so the business venture when ahead and unfortunately it didn't.

Well I would not complain if they start the work together years ago. But as mentioned I would not send a community that have no choice for advertising on Android on a sinking ship.
But well even if we don`t complain about this fact. I am sure we can complain that since this there is no ad option for Android. And this is really outrageously. This shows that no one at GS is really thinking about us the developers. Us who pay there bills. As mentioned some month ago. I would be more than happy to pay 2000 USD or more (like in the past) for a real pro account. Than they maybe can hire enough people or do what ever they need todo to sort out the issues and focus on the real issues.

My 3 steps to follow about advertisement:
    1) fix RevMob and ChartBoost.
    2) add advertising on Amazon.
    3) enable PlayHaven for Android.

I don't think you can do this soon. Because GS don't take this as their first priority. Async Multiplayer is a cool feature. I love it. But as developer, I desperately want ads in my game on android market. Without ads I simply took the game off and wait for those features. Sadly, we don't have choice. Wait or Leave GS…

    @mulyinc couldn't agree more!

A lot of complaining on this Forum Thread. Gamesalad is a great product. The future is bright, let's see what they can deliver.

Looks like some people get used to it, give up the right to complain. Remember we pay for the membership. You don't complain if you are making free app and planning make some advertisement revenue from android market? I think its a big deal for developers. Its like a cake cut into half. You don't deserve that half.

Look I understand Gamesalad is very busy working on 0.11.0, but to us developers, especially those who pay $300 yearly deserve to get a few responses to our concerns and questions. If it's taking Gamesalad months to implement new updates then I believe developers should get an additional 3-6 months added to their membership. I'm proud of Gamesalads progress, but I mean if it cost an additional $100 a year, for a membership I'd be willing to pay in order to have better service, quicker updates, and better customer service.

There's a lot of complaining because people are frustrated. That's why you see it. I think it's a good thing, as it gives a barometer for the morale of the GameSalad community. I love GameSalad, and the community is awesome. Creative people, witty, willing to share. If you didn't see any complaining in the forums, it would mean that everything is just perfect... or close to it. That is NOT where things are currently from what I see, and from my own perspective.

GameSalad has a load of potential, and the team is doing great work. That's one of the reasons everyone sticks around. They all see it. I think everyone just hopes that their posts get read, and that it contributes to making GS an even better product.

Most of the questions people are asking have been answered at some point, are questions without answers yet, or are questions that have obvious answers.

Take responsibility on the fact that you chose to buy it knowing what it didn't have yet.
