How do I try out my game?

I am about halfway through making my game, but I dont know how to test it out to see if it works. I pressed the play buttom but none of the keys worked for the game. What should I do?

Perhaps spend an afternoon going over this stuff and then if you are still stuck come back here and ask some more specific questions if you can

Asking a question like you have just brings up more questions.

I know this may sound a silly reason but sometimes gameplay doesn't work unless you click the screen with your cursor. GameSalad just runs in the background randomly.

Also I think the little grey play button (in the mac version) does not work these days. You need to use the large green preview button.

I found the problem. My cursor has to be in the actual game preview and i had it just next to it. Thanks for the help guys
