Why does the screen display size appear to be half what it should be?

Hi,
I'm new to GameSalad, and I'm currently see if it's worth using or not, and am writing some test games to test out the platform.
One of the things I noticed was that, for instance, when I selected the iphone as a platform, the screen's display size was set to 568 by 320.
Now if I look at the tech specs for the iphone its twice that, at 1136 by 640.
When I checked the ipad display size it was 1024 by 768, but the tech specs for the ipad say it's 2048 by 1536.
Is there a reason why the display size if half of what is really available?
Alternatively, does the pro version allow for a proper display size?
Regards,
Dean

jamie_c ImagineLabs.rocks Posts: 5,772Gamesalad is not limiting you to smaller device/screen sizes. This is how they handle retina and non-retina displays for iOS. If you are creating a project for an iDevice, make sure you check/turn on Resolution Independence and everything will work fine for both retina and non-retina devices.
Keep in mind when you are creating your graphics for use with Resolution Independence you'll need to create everything at the high resolution size you want, for example even though the screen size is listed as 1024 x 768 for the iPad, you'd want to create your full screen graphics as 2048 x 1536. Gamesalad will automatically scale the images down for the non-retina device.
When you do this and publish a game for iDevices it will look correct on both retina and non-retina devices.
