Can someone explain the expression syntax? Do I type into the expression box, i.e.. 52 *cos((Target.Rotation)+90)+Target.PositionX where Target is my parent actor.
It's hard to know what your question is (for me at least).

My question is in the text that the code box produces, it says "parent's rotation".
What does this mean and how do I write my parent actor into the expression box?
Ok Socks, thanks but I am just a newbie with GS, so wondering if you have a sample file that this is working for? I don't mean the link machine file but an actual file with the code working?

No, sorry I haven't, but it's really straightforward, the instructions are in the first post.
Hi Socks, thanks a bunch for the video, that explained a lot. My app runs slow for some reason, so the expression editor didn't show me all options and it through me. I have 32 gigs of ram, is there anyway of allocating more ram or optimising it for speed (on Mac)?

@Socks I just found this thread because @smurfted 's post today bumped it to the top.

When one starts a post and has either solved the question or found the answer elsewhere, or suddenly feels stupid, what is the protocol for a "dead saved draft" seeing that we can't delete a useless draft?
Anyway, ignore what's below because I figured it out. (I left it there because some of you won't be able to sleep if you don't find out.)

Q: Here is an anomaly that has me puzzled. When I open this thread in Firefox 41.0.1 (using OSX 10.10.5) a post from @jamie_c in Jan 2015 is displayed with a link to his Scrolling Menu made with Socks's code above, both of which I have downloaded.
However, when I open this thread in Safari 9.0.3 that post is absent?

A: Two different threads!
"LinkMachine" vs "Fast Constrain (LinkMachine v2)".

My parent actor is called Target.
You select the attribute you want via the what the expression editor.

Could I send you my file to take a look at what dumb thing I am doing? Here is the dropbox link:https://dropbox.com/s/zyp0lgcnfwhm5q7/impossrush.gameproj.zip?dl=0
You just need to select the attributes from the pull down menu rather than typing them in by hand, that's the issue here . . . .
Hold on, video coming . . .
Here you go . . .

Here is a much simpler, easier to use, faster and entirely interactive update of the same concept . . . .
