There's a great site - one of quite a few of its type - which could be really helpful for your games. It's called Adobe Kuler and its terrific for colour ways, with settings based on Analogous, Chromatic, Triad, Complemtary, etc.
I've a Photoshop plugin (but can't remember installing it tho', only just discovered it! (Photoshop>Window>Extensions>Kuler) I'm sure you'll be able to get the plugin from the website… You can even add your colour selections to your swatches with it.
https://kuler.adobe.com/create/color-wheel/
I've also a tip for when you want different colour ways in your one game, say 4 different sets of colours for 4 groups of levels. You obviously want them different, but complimentary to each other, so they seem to belong together (in the same app):
…………………………………………………...
• TIP : So you've your colour ways for one set of levels, let's say 5 colours, all different but balanced as you want. Make up a swatch of all the colours on one layer in Photoshop, and go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation and adjust the Hue slider. Do this as many times as you like from the master, and you'll get new sets of colours, but all balanced in the same way as your first set. (Obvious? Not to me… I've only just "discovered" this! ;-) )
…………………………………………………...
Colour… reminded me…
:-)
••••• if anyone else has a tip concerning the use of colour for graphics, in-game, etc, i.e anything, everything to do with colour, (even png-8 versus png-24 info again to help newcomers) please post here, cheers! •••••

Here's a colour selection wheel that might be useful for something. (file attached)
(drag the triangular handle around to change the colour)
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/color-viewfinder-real-time/id519551982
Tip: if your image is flat colour graphics without any transparency or gradients then save using Save for Web and Devices in Photoshop, or similar, as an 8 bit png. The resulting file will be half the size of a 24 bit png.
But be aware that when any 8 bit file is put into a GameSalad file, it will be made as 24 bit file again and the file size will be even bigger than if you'd put in a 24 bit version originally…why, I don't know.
The solution to this, i.e using 8 bit pngs in GSC to save file size, is to hold down ctrl (on a Mac) and click on the GSC file, and choose Show Package Contents. Open the images folder and drag in your 8 bit pngs into it and replace.
