Gamesalad performing very slowly on my Mac

I am on a 2011 iMac with an intel i7 Dual core processor and the latest operating system and Gamesalad hangs on nearly every change of window, attribute browser, etc. for 30+ seconds. Could there be something wrong with my install or is this the speed at which it operates? It's literally adding hours to my creation time just waiting for the program to catch up with itself.

    How big is your project?

    Also, do you have the Android SDK installed?

    Closing and re-opening GameSalad each time you start experiencing this slowness helps a little for a few minutes. I get this problem a lot myself.

    People here have mentioned that this slowness disappears when they work from SSD's. Not sure if they're loading only their game from it or if they've got GameSalad installed on it too. I haven't tried this yet as I don't have one.
