played for about 20 minutes, its an interesting game i might say, its addictive aswell which is a good sign.

its smooth, no lag and doesn't crash ;)
its a strange type of game i haven't actually played a game like this before,

though this type of game would not be my favorite because i prefer platformer games, but it is still a great game i must say, good work

hey, based on what I have played of your game I have a few comments. First the strongest points of your game are the art and the gameplay. Your gameplay is fun, fast paced, and challenging. It also works, not leaving me frustrated or feeling unfair.

My biggest critique would be the menu system and story line/direction of the game. The game kinda just throws you in and I don't really know who my character is and why I am fighting snakes or dropping water on myself. Some sort of story line with a goal, even if it is silly, makes the game more enjoyable and defeating stages more rewarding. Makes people more likely to finish the game.
Also the menus are a bit confusing. The first screen says start, then when I beat the first level the title screen still says start but I can't click it, I have to go to a different screen pick a level there beat it and go back to the title and click start to get back to the main game? Not sure the best solution for this but it left me a little confused. I would try another way. Perhaps having all the levels on one screen?
  • Overall nice work though!

Good stuff thanks! Im very happy you also mentioned my Art as nice since its pretty wild style.
    Noted down:
+Story (embedding context to gameplay situations)
+Simpler(straight forward) progress layer navigation (levels)

Hi, my comments will probably be very similar to @erockross

Once I started the game, I was completely confused, I had no real idea what the structure was, what the goal was and the purpose of it all.

Also, and maybe this is because I am playing on an iPhone 4, which might be too weak, but I find the game prohibitively hard. I beat the first level once I found out what was the point, but after finishing the first water-dripping, I cannot get past the second level. The amount of projectiles fired at me, and the way they are spaced out, means that I get hit very often, because the shield usually expires just before a second shot hits and due to the cool-down, it is impossible to put up another shield. I tried only working the shields, without firing at all, to see how long I can last, but even so it was just too fast.

Also, on the iPhone 4, some of the elements, like the return arrow, are slightly off screen.

The artwork is great, really wacky, I like it a lot.

The numbers in NEXT, on the main menu, are also slightly off screen.

    @pHghost
Yeah i patched the numbers offscreen, the fix should arrive in 2-3 days (apple approval).
That was shame that this one slipped in. The cut of arrow is fine to me.

I tested it once on iphone4 and i must say the performance made it very hard to time the shield right. So i think so tight timing games are pretty tricky combined with older device performance.

A very good point for my next iteration of the game.

Just played your game. Firstly, i really like your art style. Very unique and interesting. The gameplay is very unique and interesting too. It has a learning curve which is good. All in all i find it a very interesting game. Will play through the complete game and will let you know more about it.

    @BigDave

Yeah, the iPhone 4 is a grandpa, haha. I would maybe just mention it in the description, a lot of games actually state for 4S and up, I don't think it would hurt your sales, on the contrary, can save you a couple frustrated reviews!

Pretty different from what I usually see around - that's cool - and it's a bit of a mystery in some ways that takes some learning - gave me the vibe of a Magic card game sort of thing - or Yu Gi Oh etc. - As somebody said earlier - some cryptic story elements would help...

On the water level you could say something like this...

"Blocks above, one, two and three - must rain water down on me - before time ends eternally"

One thing if doing this is the language issue - maybe you don't want to have too much of that to alienate non-english speaking countries. But you already have English hints.

That kind of mystery-talk stuff would fit in nicely I think :)

I was a bit scared that it would get repetitive - but the skill level stepped up quite a bit and the various powers are cool.

Nice stuff :) Just a little more polish and it's a real nice game.

    Cheers, M@

"Blocks above, one, two and three - must rain water down on me - before time ends eternally"

    That's awesome!

I did try to use as minimal text as possible, because nobody likes to read :P and to avoid localization work. I agree the mini games appear a little disconnected to the main flow without any narrative bridge. And some flavor text as you mentioned above could round things up.

    Thank you for your feedback!

All the old games used to have text like that - especially the Ultimate Play the Game ones :D

    Sabre Wulf:
THY PATH IS LONG SO TREAD WITH CARE
BEWARE THE WULF AND PASS HIS LAIR
    DANGER THREATENS ALL AROUND
SO TAKE YE FROM THIS HIDDEN MOUND
TO FREE THEE FROM THIS SUNKEN GATE
BY WAY OF CAVE OR MEET THY FATE
AN AMULET TO SEEK THY WILL
'TWAS SPLIT BY QUAD AND HIDDEN STILL
PASS THE KEEPER WROUGHT WITH HATE
TO GAIN AN ENTRANCE TO THE GATE
THE PIECES LOST MUST THEE AMAS
FOR IF NO CHARM THEN NON SHALL PASS

    Knight Lore:
THE WIZARD`S OLDER NOW THAN ALL
HIS HELP YOU SEEK WITHIN THIS WALL
FOR FORTY DAYS YOUR QUEST MAY LAST
LOCATE THE POTION, MAKE IT FAST
THIS HIDEOUS SPELL UPON YOUR SOUL
TO LOSE ITS HOLD MUST BE YOUR GOAL
BEWARE, THE TRAPS FROM HERE BEGIN
THE CAULDRON TELLS WHAT MUST GO IN
TO BREAK THE CURSE AND MAKE THE SPELL
TO SAVE YOURSELF AND MAKE YOU WELL.

I suppose I like the mystery of these cryptic poems which are hidden instructions on how to play and complete the game.

    #retrogaming :D
