Can I get sued for using art that I purchased in the game salad marketplace?

So I have just completed my first game. 100% percent of my graphics, sounds, and animations where purchased from the game salad marketplace. For instance, I bought a fire animation for 2.99, an orb image for 5.99. My question is if I purchased the art am I free to publish my game as my own or can I get sued. P.S I have read all of the game salad marketplace conditions and I am still confused…I have only been learning game salad for about a couple months now.

If someone tried to sue you for using assets bought in the GameSalad marketplace the case would be laughed out of court, in fact I doubt it would even get to court.

Everything sold in the marketplace is developed and distributed for use in commercial projects.

The only problem one could conceivably run into is if the asset author isn't the actual author of the art, music or template asset at all, but actually stole the work from someone else and then posted for resale as his or her own. It's unlikely that will happen, though certainly there are unscrupulous people out there always looking to game the system. Some people have stole entire games, not bothered to change any of the artwork, and then tried to sell that off as their own, so anything could happen I suppose. There's no way to check every single resource on the net for authorship.

However, if that were ever the case, you would likely receive some kind of notice, which you would want to provide to the GameSalad marketplace folks to handle.

I'm not a lawyer, and this isn't legal advise of any kind, just opinion, but it would be my guess that in this unlikely even, even then you wouldn't be in any danger of getting sued.

I think the only way you would get successfully sued would be if you bought those assets and then tried to resell or pass them off as your own. Which, isn't the case. You should be fine.
