    Looks quite interesting. I'll have to download it and give it a go. First impression though it change the icon. I'd suggest something cleaner to better reflect the aesthetic of the game.

    It looks like a fancy pie chart

    The game looks interesting, but sadly I don't have an iPad so can't give it a go.

    Have you got a video of the gameplay?

    @KevinCross

    Do you like the icon or would it be just something you would definitely not check out?

    No we haven't got yet but we're working on it!

    Not really sure about the logo but then I rarely skip past an app because I don't like the logo. I'll look out for the video as I'm intrigued to find out how it works

    The logo just does not reflect the theme of Racing Dots. Honestly, the idea of racing dots/spots in a Microsoft paint-looking world does not look all that appealing. It could be super complex underneath, but the design leaves it looking unfinished and prototypical at best.

    @RP how would you change it? Just checking for opinions.

    The general idea comes from a popular game played on a sheet of paper. The design is clean and modern. In game there are bubbles to press for moving them. Just check it out! I think the game doesn'T look like a Microsoft paint art at all but ok. Maybe you can help us to improve with some suggestions :)

    ad some gradient to the colors maybe. some shaded and lights... or a textured look to it. or a 3d pop. but i really like the icon! the border looks amazing!

    For the icon: Things to consider (while implementing the same or similar art style). A checkered flag, a dot with wheels on it burning out from an accelerated start. Exagerated forward momentum.

    The icon left the way it is may be recognized as a staple of an IP if it were something like the Marathon games (Bungie), but that went along with the theme of the game as it was used as in-game emblem. The icon you are using does not appear to be associated with the in-game aspect.

    You are saying the design is modern, but it's really something akin to 50's design (see the attached example). I think it's really the tracks that make it feel barren. It may be clean, but clean can feel empty and even worse, boring. Sorry, I'm just being honest here. It does have a MS paint feel to me. I dunno, maybe you can incorporate some older 50's racing design ideas into this without crowding it.

    The border was designed like these years wwdc icon from apple, we loved that.

    @RP
    We worked hard last night and came up with these new icons.
    Please everyone let us know what looks best.

    I disagree with rp I think most, if not all art aspects of the game look sleek and modern . Good job on this game @GuaveMedia !!!

    @GraphicWarehouse

    Thanks a lot! How do you like the icon if I may ask?

    Cheers!

    Well the first one that was like wwdc had too much drop shadow in my opinion, and these ones look really nice but they don't show what the game is about. I am blanking on suggestions because it is really hard to think of an icon for a dot racing game in a minimalist style, I would say choose your favorite of the ones you just made.

    Okey we'll do that, thx for the support and feedback!

    While I see where you are going with the minimalist design the icons still don't really incorporate the soul of your game. Even so, there are some cleaver designs that you put together. I highlighted the ones I liked best. I also took a couple and spliced them together in the top right corner for a couple variant ideas, retaining your theme. I think you can come up with some better stuff, just give the idea some time to bake.

    Minimalist art and abstract expressionism were at their peek and widely used in the 50's. Again, I'd suggest plucking though some design ideas from that era (even action painting, although not as clean). This is why I disagree with calling this modern. Not disagreeing with your design choice, this is the route you chose and I get it.

    Other than "Inspired by a colorful life", It might help to understand what your design philosophy and goal are/were for this game (It's also relevant to the design of the icon). What brought on the minimalist approach?(I'm gathering it may be iOS7).

    Oops, left one out.

    @RP
    Yes iOS7 was definitely something we checked out. BUt it wasn't the main force. We just love simple design.

    Ok, a new update is out and we also found our new icon ;) Check it out!

    How's the racing part work? You only showed one line but your screenshots above show multiple lines. As one player I'd imagine it'll get a little boring quite quickly, I can't test it as I don't have an iPad, but I had to skip through the 8 minute video.

    Good luck with it anywho

    @KevinCross
    The racing is based on a famous game here in our country which was played on a piece of paper. You can race on a grid system but you need to watch out because there are oil fields etc. waiting for you. Multiple lines are appearing in the multiplayer mode where you can race with up to 3 friends. If you race and you accelerate you need to think that you need one move again to slow down. If you get to fast you may not have enough moves to slow down.

    @GuaveMedia cool. I'm sure it's a lot more fun with your friends, if you can actually play in a way to stitch each other up and block each others paths. In the screenshots I can see players line crossing over each other so maybe that's not possible. I've not seen the game played on paper in the UK so it's hard to see how competitive the game could be. I'm sure it works well :)
