Flat Design And Indie Games

Flat design is undoubtedly taking over our smart-phones, tablets and web but how does it fare in games?
I haven't used GamesSalad in a while but I'm considering trying to make a game over the next few months now that I have some free time. I'm hoping for simple yet striking graphics. What do you think of flat design? Does anyone have any inspiration (graphic style or colour palette)?

People tend to love or hate that one.
But from this you should have a lot of resource that shows you colours and styles for UI methods of clear UX and tonnes of inspiration. Hope this helps

I just hope that with it becoming really popular at the moment we don't end up over saturating the market and getting sick of it!
@boomshackbarry I guess that just means designers have to do something a little more interesting with it!
