Choose 2 or 3 key images from the 72 exported png images. Make sure they are images that illustrate the different positions of your animation.

I don't use Anime so I can't help with the how to export less images, but my suggestion would be a good workaround.

That's a lot of frames. Can you change the framerate to produce less images?

What I usually do when I export a series of .png's is either what @kolabo suggested, or i go through the folder, and delete every other image. When you do that for your project, you will then have 36 images. You then go through that new series of images and delete every other one again and you will have 18 images. Do that same thing again, and you will have 9 images. See where this is going?

My animation of pucky has three segments of 270 frames and it works well ip the size of the image is for his face so it's about 210x140. I used anima studio. You get an image for every frame so if you lower the frame rate you'll have less frames and it will be timed properly. To be honest 72 frames is not a big deal. I would get a PNG compression program and compress down the size of the images before import into GS.
