Behind the scenes in gamesalad, the main game is a single scene that reads the letter values from a single table into a 6 x 6 grid of letters on the scene. Rows 1-6 for level one, 7-12 for level 2, etc. It's all dynamic (except for the last level which has a hard stop). Adding a new level is as simple as adding 6 new rows.

As a c# programmer by day and my first few iOS games made via xcode, I love the freedom GS gives me to concentrate on gameplay and not coding/developing an engine. With tables and some of the newer features, the limitations it previously had are gradually being removed.
