    It could be a DPI issue - graphics created for Gamesalad have to be made in 72dpi (dots per inch), which is a setting you can select when you first create your image in illustrator. However this does seem a bit odd because if you're using an illustrator iPhone template I would have thought that's set up for 72dpi already, unless it's set up at a higher dpi for retina screens. I'm still on CS5.5 so I don't have that template to look at, but the first thing I'd check is whether the image is 72dpi or not.

    when i exported the image i put 300 dpi so the quality is better, i didnt know that this changes the size, however , with 72 dpi it looks like my image is not good =( like 1990 videogame

    I'm not sure off the top of my head what would be causing that - if you had 72dpi selected when you created the file, and then you exported it at the same pixel size and the same dpi, then it should look exactly the same as it does in illustrator. I'm still thinking...

    Gamesalad prefers Pngs, I think if you import a JPG it converts it to a PNG before you can use it. It's worth outputting it from illustrator directly as a PNG so that you can have more control over how the PNG looks. Also I tend to use 'File > export for web and devices' rather than just 'export', as it gives you far more options when exporting.

    Sorry my bad it was a typo - it's 'File > Save for web & devices'.

    Do not use 300 dpi for images going into GS. 72 dpi is sufficient but make sure it is the correct size for the project and double res for Retina screens (which are basically the standard now).
    This means for a iPhone5 friendly graphic make sure the image is 1136x640 at 72 dpi.

    320x480 is an out of date size for iPhone really so do not use CS5.5 templates is my advice.

    @daaddd

    Your canvas size (the size of the actual file) is 400 x 562 pixels.
    Your image area is 321 x 481 pixels.

    When the file is brought into a Legacy iPhone Portrait project, it fits the screen size perfectly (or near enough).

    Q: Which GS Platform size are you using ?

    ty very much, legacy works perfectly, there is any difference from legacy portrait for normal?
