Just a quick heads up to say that our new quiz game FaceMash:CE should be hitting the app store tomorrow (4th May)

How well do you know your celebrities? Think you recognize that face? Think again!

Celebrity Facemash takes 240 familiar faces from Film, TV, Music & Sports and recklessly mashes them together to create 120 remarkable 'celebrity face mashes'!

Is that George Clooney & Colin Firth? Kylie & Lady Gaga? Lewis Hamilton & Tiger Woods?? It's up to you to identify the 'faces in the mash' over 5 levels of fun and addictive face-unmashing, with each face more fiendishly difficult to unmash than the last!

Celebrity FaceMash is a unique puzzle game that tests just how well you can root out a celebrity face from our vault of new and exciting mashed-up A-listers, and
will keep you and your friends guessing for hours!

    This mechanism of game is cropping up everywhere. very popular. Good choice. And yours looks well done too. Keep us up to date with how it goes. Can you tell us how you're monetising it?

    We considered doing it as a free game with ads, and having a ton of IAP (We tried this with our TV logo quiz game, and it didn't really take off)....but in the end, we settled on selling it for $0.99, and having IAP for hint packs, and to auto unlock the levels. You can also earn hints in-game by playing and guessing correctly, and unlock the levels buy guessing a certain number of faces. So no-one should feel forced into using the IAP.

    Just a question. How did you get permission to add faces of celebrities? Did you get them from royalty free image sites?

    We are kind of sitting in a "grey area" with regards to that.
    On the onehand, we feel we are covered by "fair usage" with regards to satire, by showing celebrity faces in the way we have...and, we are not using a celebrity "face" or "name" to sell the app...but rather content generated by us in the form of the face mashes. (that's kind of the whole point)

    On the other hand...yeah, we may run into trouble if certain celebrities decide they don't want to be in the app, in which case we would remove them from the game....but imagine the publicity we could drum up if say Tom Cruise decided we should remove him. ;)

    But yeah...it's a fine line we are treading at the mo. I would hope that everyone we have used would take it in good spirits. But if not, hey ho.

    Has anyone tried it out yet?
    We worked really hard on getting the UI to feel as slick as poss.

    Yeah I bought it and like very much. It's very hard. Some are easy though. In whole the menu system and layout is real good.

    I did get bashed on this forum for using images of celebs in my app, though it was from the perspective of the photographers who took the photos / not he celebs. I'm on your side though. Good luck with sales. How can we help?
