I used Quicktime's screen recorder, so the video quality isn't the best, so my apologies.

As you can probably tell by the video, my inspiration is from games like "The Impossible Game" and the "Line Runner" franchise. Super simple visuals, with the emphasis being on the gameplay experience of dodging while hunting.

Like any decent game, the longer you last, the more difficult it becomes. First, the numbers on the blocks disappear, so now instead of mentally keeping track of what the next number is, the player must seek out the correct color.

If you get past that section, then the blocks actually switch to a different color on screen, so you can't just assume that red block you need is going to stay red!

Then, just when you've got that figured out, the blocks change color AND change positions! Stay sharp!

Finally, the last bit of difficulty is when the beloved "Target" indicator just turns into a question mark, forcing the player to remember what their target is, in addition to dodging the color-changing, lane-switching blocks!

I'm about 95% done. I just need to do some final polishing and tweak some sound fx.

Any useful comments and suggestions are appreciated!

thanks @Utveckla_Games - the trouble with recording with QuickTime is that there's a split-second delay whenever I try to move up and down, so that made dodging the blocks much, much more difficult. I thought I'd end up sharing a video of me dying every 8 seconds!

no worries @Zenith_Gameworks - the flashing isn't that fast...I hope. That's to indicate to the player that Invincibility mode is about to end, much like how the Pacman ghosts blink when they're going to go back to normal, inedible mode.

I'm already working on an update that will make the game start off a little easier :)
apparently, the difficulty is a bit too strong right out of the gate!

    Cool! I'll check it out.
Certainly, make the difficulty progressive. :)

    Update submitted, waiting for review.
I've adjusted to difficulty so it starts off a little easier, and progressively gets more difficult.
I've also added semi-transparent, color-coded buttons to indicate where Up, Down, and Shield are on the screen. They interpolate away after about 15 seconds.

I think those changes will help the casual gamer quite a bit.

    On to the next game!

HEY MAN IF YOU'RE GONNA USE THOSE FAST FLASHING COLOURS YOU SHOULD PUT A WARNING FOR EPILEPSY AND STUFF.

    @dyllan
Have you played the game? The flashing colors is only on during invincibility mode, which is rather brief.

I just don't like seeing indie game developers being sued... :D

Looks cool, I'll check it out! Good luck! :)

Thanks! Game tip: immediately aim for the 'coins' to build your shield, and get familiar using it!
