Generating doesn't work

I've created a nice little game of about 3.9 MB in size..

Now i want to Generate and Sign it but somehow i get stuck on this point…

After clicking the generating button i always got an error message telling me the internetz is broken but now it somehow "worked" without that error coming up..

But now both the generate and the sign button are faded out and i'm not getting the message that the app has finished generating..

Now I realized (when watching some videos because this is my first time generating an app) that this process should be finished very fast but for me it's now about 45 minutes since i clicked generate app and it's still not finished..

Does anyone know what went wrong here and how i can fix this? I'm not on pro btw. and i'm using Mac OS X

I hope somebody can help me :)

    Don't worry too much. I am also seeing this. I think there is a problem with the Publishing Generation right now. I'm sure they are looking into it as we speak.

    Hi guys, don't know if the following is helpful for you: I only found out the other day (can't remember who told me to credit them) that the Generate in the GS Publishing doesn't let you know when it's finished.

    So the solution is to estimate when you think it might be finished, then refresh the web page (i.e click in the address bar and press return to reload).

    why refresh? can't i close the browser and just come back tomorrow and see if it worked by then? or will i have to "regenerate"?

    Yes this is not working either. Something is wrong with the publishing servers.

    Hi @Lino As far as I know, if you closed it and reopened it, you'd have to start over... so refreshing is the only way at the time....

    But as @FryingBaconStudios just pointed out, even that's not working now... I guess you'll just have to wait till whatever prob is fixed and it's all back online OK... annoying, I know...

    Hey Dave, I remember now it was your good self who told me about the refresh trick after pressing Generate (when it's working).... cheers again.

    Not working for me either. I tried starting three new projects and it still did it. The generation button is greyed and no amount of refreshing will reset the thing. I hope it gets fixed soon, I only have a few hours left to work.

    Funny that they just posted that flag congratulating themselves for fixing the previous publishing issues. If it wasn't so tragic a story it would be humorous. But we have a game to get tested and this doesn't make it any easier.

    It would be nice to know how much longer this will take to fix. I don't want to sit in front of my computer all night waiting.

    Is there any way to test multi-touch functions without outputting to a device? I really can't continue at all with this project until I can test, and I can't test on a device with this broken. Unless there is some other way, I'm just stuck.

    Nothing yet.

    And if anyone else is wondering, although it may be common knowledge, there is not a way to test multi-touch without a device.

    @SaladStraightShooter - We'd love some comment on this. My app name is expiring in 2 weeks, and I sure hope I don't lose it because the publishing servers aren't working..

    We have to wait until someone gets in to the office and reboots the server.

    On a positive note the server was running really fast for me prior to this - so their fix worked.

    Yeah I noticed that as well. I was getting some super fast builds prior to tonight.

    Lucky I got my major testing build done Sunday. Tried tonight and no luck.

    Here's another dumb newbie question, why can't we generate offline? Does it take massive computing power or something?

    Their server effectively 'renders' your file and adds GS code to make it publishable. It is probably easier for them to have that control centrally than having to release new software versions for every tweak and change.

    @lycettebros Except other software has no issue patching itself when you're online. Its an issue of controlling app generation/licensing. Its easier to prevent piracy when theres no way to generate an app locally. Its also insanely paranoid, but GS is in TX, so I figure it comes with the territory.

    Its been a problem for ages and its greyed out like ya say but a refresh works for me.

    Upload, fill in the forms then generate and go have a drink or throw some darts (like i do) :) hit refresh after a few minutes and sign.

    They should be in any minute - just turned 7 am here in Texas. I'd think the problem will be fixed within the hour.

    I wonder why I wasn't having any trouble yesterday... It sped by for me. I published, generated and downloaded my app binary within 5 minutes. :/

    Lol funny..imagine if we really are just one click of a reset button away from publishing and testing our games lol. I find that funny for some odd reason.. Just play that in your head lol.. I do hope it gets all fixed up soon tho :D
