Impaled for Mac #1 Action Game in UK, #5 Action Game in US!

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty excited because my game Impaled for Mac is doing pretty well on the free charts.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/impaled/id574389406?mt=12

However, some users are really complaining because they can't seem to open it... Can someone please try and if it can't open, please tell me why you think that is. It works perfect for me.

Thanks,
Michael

    @mikelowe

    I don't think those are rankings...

    image

    They look more like action apps in chronological order, as they are not in the 'top charts'

    Oh, and I had no problem playing your game...

    I think the people with problems are those on Snow Leopard.

    GameSalad-published Mac games are no longer playable on Snow Leopard :(

    Hey @mikelowe

    I totally understand if you don't want to, but would you mid sharing download figures that got you to #1 in the Top Charts?

    I've always wondered (and I'm sure many others will agree with me on this) how many downloads the games in the Top Charts got...especially the #1 :)

    Thanks

    @fryingbaconstudios, the bad reviews are people who haven't played it because as Chakku pointed out, they are on Snow Leopard.

    Thanks guys.
    @Chakku I had always been curious myself so... ~800 downloads/day will get you on the chart.

    Yep, I think it's pretty stupid that they removed Snow Leopard functionality.

    Apparently Apple requires this :/

    I mean, I understand GameSalad Creator being unsupported on Snow Leopard, but why limit the published games too? What has that got to do with Apple's requirements??

    Anyways, @mikelowe , put a disclaimer in the description saying that 1) it's unsupported on Snow Leopard, and 2) the people that can't open the app are the ones on Snow Leopard

    You can't use gamesalad made games on snow leopard??? That's bizzare, then why bother?

    @Chakku I don't know the answer to your question, but here's the relevant info for @andrewm2211:

    From http://gamesalad.com/blog/gamesalad-0100-for-mac-web-publishing
    In keeping with Apple's requirements, after our next official release we will no longer support Snow Leopard or older OS's. This also means that all 32 bit support will be dropped, and users must utilize a 64 bit processor going forward. As this is Apple mandated, we hope that you understand the necessity behind this change, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Hi Andrew, I have it on good authority that OS X 10.9 is to be called "Tiddles".... :O) :-)

    No worries. It's circa 2009. Many cats have come and gone since then. Okay, only two cats, but still.

    Tiddles,

    @tatiang

    I understand why support was dropped for GameSalad Creator in Snow Leopard, but why drop support for GameSalad-made Mac GAMES??

    It's like they're removing a feature, as before 0.10.00, they had support for Mac published games to be playable on Snow Leopard, Lion, AND Mountain Lion...but for some reason they're forced to drop support for PLAYABLE games on Snow Leopard??

    Apple's requirements are weird...
