My art is horrible

It looks like something someone could have done with Paint. Gah, far far far from professional grade, and definitely not art I would put in a game. :/ anyone know how to make it look nice? Im using inkscape.And somehow @SpriteAttack can makes his art look good!

    @Socks ?
    Lol, it's an old joke.

    "A man gets into a taxi with a violin case in New York and asks the taxi driver: "How do I get to Carnegie Hall ?", the taxi driver replies: "practice".

    (Only the very best musicians get to play at Carnegie Hall as it's a prestigious concert venue.)

    "Im using inkscape.And somehow @SpriteAttack can makes his art look good!"

    SpriteAttack's artwork doesn't look good because of Inkscape, I fully expect him to produce great artwork if you gave him a piece of chalk and dustbin lid, it's nothing to do with the software, it's having an aptitude / natural talent for these things and years of practice (a bit like me and beer drinking).

    be patient and keep practicing. Using inkscape wont make an artwork magically look good.

    Also get a pencil and paper. If you don't know what those are you can google it :p
    If you want to get your on 'handwriting'. Draw every free time of the day and you will get awesome. Also learn to get your mind to look at object in your surrounding through an artist eye. I myself can't look at objects without thinking "how would I draw that?"
    And start simple. If you can't draw a circle, triangle and square freehand you can't draw.

    @Slayre77 - I have been doing computer game art for 25+ years and have been drawing and painting all my life... of course it looks easy when I do it... but it's a learning curve and takes practice, practice and some more practice. You will see the results when you keep at it.

    @Socks - thanks - I have tried a lot but the chalk and dust bin lid are not on the list yet... ;) but you nailed it - it's not the software, the beast of a computer you use or the most expensive art supplies. It's experience, skill and in the end a tad of talent to set you apart from the rest.
