if you think you can do it please contact: appillionaires@yahoo.com

I'm becoming a little wary of these games that simply copy someone else's work, I realise that people take these templates and change the artwork and audio, but it's worrying nonetheless that you can spend a year of your life, perhaps even longer, designing, programming, working out the gameplay and rules and features (and so on) of a game only for people to feel they can simply help themselves to your hard work, get someone else to copy your game so they can cash in on your idea.

    : (

I've never been a fan of the template mills for this reason, the idea that when you do finally complete the game you've dedicated months and years of your life to that your game will have to compete with people who've simply cloned your game a couple of weeks after you've released it, helped along by others who are actively encouraging people to rip you off by selling near identical templates of your game.

This seems to be the only industry where this kind of activity is tolerated to such a high degree.

This comment is not aimed at Appillionaires per se, just a general comment on what I see as a very real problem, a culture that actively encourages people to rip off other people's hard work.

You ask this - and at the same time post (elsewhere) that you would like someone to make a perfect copy of Lep's World for you (including the life, scoring and timing system).

Can you not see that the people who ripped TShirtBooth off pretty much took the same path ? Imagine a post appeared here on GameSalad forums a couple of weeks before these guys posted their ZombieDrop rip off . . . which read . . .

"We've been looking for someone who can make perfect ZombieDrop template, must have life, scoring, timing system etc, if you think you can do it please contact: XXXX@yahoo.com . . . "

What would you think ? Can you not see how you are doing much the same thing as the people who ripped off TShirtBooth ?

Update: A little digging reveal that appillionaires is none other than Sophannara Hang the guy who ripped of TShirtBooth's ZombieDrop and uploaded it as his own game to iTunes.

    Avoid !!

You pirated TShirtBooth's ZombieDrop game and uploaded it to iTunes as your own and now you are trying the same thing with Lep's World.

    Not cool.

Still on the upside - through your actions on the forum today we have your name (Sophannara Hang), your email address (appillionaires@yahoo.com), the company you are releasing 'TreasureAhoy' through (mobigames) . . . . all information TShirtBooth may well be interested in.

I've been waiting to see if Appillionaires would speak up, and defend them self, but they're not. And they are trying to change their account, so until further notice, I'm closing all threads started by Appillionaires, who by the way, has changed their name to DigitalArtStudio.

Merged these all together to avoid taking up so much space on the forums.
