Hi Dmitry! We're glad you've been enjoying developing games with GameSalad.

To answer your questions, if you are interested in selling your games on the iPhone, what will happen is that we will offer a service which creates a license free executable - we do not take a royalty of any sorts like Apple does. We haven't yet released a pricing structure but will be sure to post it as soon as we're ready.

And we are definitely looking forward to adding new features. We recommend posting your suggestions to the Roadmap and Suggestions forums. Thanks again for the support!

This means that the publishing of our games in appstor will not depend from you?
Or you will be a main publisher for all games created at the gamesalad, and take some price for a publishing at iphone?

We're basically introducing a pay-to-print model for iPhone publishing. Once you have completed and tested your game, you can buy the iPhone version fully exported and license-free. What this does is allow us is to make GameSalad Creator free to use for everyone and charge only those who wish to sell their games. After that point, all profits belong to the creator, we do not charge royalty or back-ends from anyone.

your model to sell iphone version of programm is very convenient in some cases, but don't you think that pirates will hack the IPhone version, and this version will be free for all?
that's why i asked about publishing.

Hi Dmitry. While the creator tool is free for anyone to download, the iPhone exporting process happens on our end, so we reduce its exposure. After you have an app in your hands and upload to the App Store, Apple's own software and hardware security measures are very capable of protecting an app. I hope this answers your questions.

    thanks for the сonsultation!
I hope that opportunity to export the game to the iphone will appear as soon as possible.

hey there superNES. i really like how this gamesalad is turning out to be.
didnt have much time to play around with it. but will definetely create something with it.
good to know your ideas with the iphone also (what actually interests me)
i think keeping it free and only charging for the export to iphone is really great.
will keep the community growing and creating indie games and for those who want to take it a step further,
they can try to sell their content.
hope gamesalad grows to get even better.

Thanks Nulo! Myself and a few others from the GameSalad crew just came back from GDC (Game Developers Conference) in San Francisco and we received overwhelmingly positive responses to GameSalad. We expect things to begin ramping up very soon and can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Please keep us posted with your progress!

im cool with the whole selling thing, but i had a couple questions:

1.what do we do if we want to update our game(after it is in the app store) ?

    2. is it okay to talk about our game in other forums (like toucharcade) ?
  • superNESsuperNES Member Posts: 166
Hi ktfright. Sorry it took a while to answer your questions. We are currently figuring out how to handle updates for already released apps. We will give out more information as we solidify it, but our goal is to make it as convenient as the rest of our system.

And yes, please go ahead and talk about your game all you want. Remember that we do not take any royalties after you release your game, so it'd be in your best interest to drum up as much attention as you can! With that said, we have some very interesting plans aimed at helping creators market their games. More to come...
