Do new android apps receive exposure the first fews weeks like apple does?

I want to know when i first put my app onto android do i have that new app window timeframe to receive exposure like apple does? Cause when you publish your game in the app store for apple you your considered new and your on top of the list for new apps. Is this the same for android? Because i want to prepare my app for promotion before i publish it so it can receive more exposure...

Not sure...but Amazon has a New Releases list that gets you a lot of exposure. You have to have enough sales to get in that list, though.

Actually, with iOS 6 we don't get that exposure. They change it...

The Google Play Store used to have something like a "New Release" category but they got rid of that awhile back. Most of our exposure on The Play Store is generated by keyword search. Make sure that your description is well written with many, many keywords interspersed throughout. Unlike IOS, the description on the Play Store is searchable, so make sure to take advantage of it.

agreed but the number of fart apps on the play store is atrocious. Thus it makes it hard to get noticed at all. Once you get noticed, sales flow in because there are few good developers in play store followed by thousands of developers publishing fart apps and scam apps there

thanks so it doesn't matter if i put my app out now or later it's not going to generate sales until i put good searchable words in there...
