Music scratchy on GS Creator

GamePizzaGamePizza Member, PRO Posts: 227
Imported music files stop and start and sound scratchy and jittery on playback in GS Creator.

The music files play fine outside of GS. Tried reimporting files and does not solve problem.

Anyone else experience this and know of a solution?

It happens in all new GS Creator project files but not in my old files created before 0.10

It happens with all imported music files. But sound effects are unaffected.

It happens to me too but I don't really care about it as the music is playing fine when I run the published version. (For example a build on iPhone)

I haven't published it yet nor tested it on a device, but it's good to know. :>

    Thanks for the info! ^:)^

I have just started experiencing this, is this a bug?
The music has been fine until now, since I downloaded the android viewer the music sounds horrible.
    Anyone else experiencing this?

Since we have installed the android sdk and downloaded the android viewer, the music and basically the creator preview in general has become so jittery it's useless. If I have more than one project file open it tends to freeze and close. This is on a machine with 16gb of ram as well. I have a feeling it's related to the android sdk on mac. It has actually distorted the audio for the machine overall it seems.

Yeah I think your right, so what would your suggest?
I have sent a bug report, This sounds like a big problem.

Also I have just tested the music outside GS and it seems fine.

yes it is related to the android SDK. there is a workaround to smooth it out though

Go into your home directory and rename the SDK folder :)

I put mine to SDK(temp). This now sorts out the jittery music. Once I'm ready to publish to Android, just rename back to SDK, publish your game and then rename the folder again.

this fixed all of the issue surrounding GS stuttering and stuff
I read the forum and there is an easier fix. Instead of making a new account, just go into the Android SDK folder > Platform tools and rename "adb" to something different like "xadb" also make sure GS is closed and make sure that adb is not running in activity monitor.

That fixed my problem. No more lagging! and to think I built my whole game like this and had to test it on device instead of preview every time makes me excited to start my new game.

Remember where this file is because if you want to build for Android, you will need to change the name back!

    Thanks @beefy_clyro
    @tenrdrmer
I changed the SDK name and it worked, but anyone know why that would affect GS?
Whats the problem Android or GS?

I have no idea, I never really cared in all honesty! Once I done that (as its a simple work around), I was satisfied lol

Glad its got you working though :)

I just think this should be fixed its going to cause loads of people problems :D

Depends on whether its fixable and what is causing the issue! Its not something major, it never effected final builds, I'd rather they concentrated on fixing actual real issues or the LUA drop engine personally!

Its been about for ages and not many people have mentioned it, not nearly as common as some other problems so I don't think it necessarily causes loads of people problems :)
