Which 'name' appears on the device?

Hi, stupid question time, so apologies in advance for wasting your valuable time with this trivia, but I forget this EVERY time!
Exactly WHICH name that you enter in the iOS Provisioning Profile is the name that appears on the device itself? It's certainly not made clear enough on the site and I'm always worried that I'm going to end up with the wrong text string appearing on the device. Is it the one where you put the com.thisisthenameofthegamethatwillappearonthedevice.developername? I always think it might be that one, but I'm never quite sure! Or, is it the general 'description' one? I promise, if you tell me the right answer I'll write it down and never ask again!

Wayne, all of that happens when you web publish through the GS servers, not on the provisioning profile /iOS dev portal

Thanks Floyd - so, I could put ANYTHING on the Apple profile pages and it wouldn't make a jot of difference to the name that the customer sees on the device, because GS handles that? (I know that's exactly what you just said, but I really want to be sure!!)

Ok, sorry - I thought I had this worked out, but it's still not sinking in! The best example for my confusion would be Plants vs. Zombies. - that's obviously the way it appears in the store, and that's what you click to get the game, but once you've got the game it appears on the device as PvZ. I would like to know where these 2 names are chosen (by me).
Sorry to not trust you Floyd, but isn't the long name chosen when you 'add new app' within iTunes Connect? I can't believe that I've done this so many times before but I'm still so confused!

On the provisioning profile you can write pretty much anything you want.

The name that appears under the icon of your app in the device is the one you set up during the publishing process, there is a field called "Display Name".

The name you add in iTunes is the one that sows up on the iTunes Store
