ATLANTA -- The school year is almost over and that means a lot of teens are looking for a summer job. But, an Atlanta teen has found a way to make some extra money through a game.
BrainZapp is one of those games that entertains you with its elegant simplicity. You're shown a group of shapes. Then you must identify the matching set. The game gets more difficult as you go. Three wrong answers and you're out.
"I have personally beaten the game. It took me a little while but I did beat it," said 16-year-old developer Christopher Jones.
Jones is the brains behind the game developed for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. It's the first game he's developed. His developing skills are totally self-taught. He's had no formal training. "I read a few books on Objective C programming. That was about it," he said.
Jones' desk is littered with the conceptual design of BrainZapp. There are dozens of simple sketches on paper.
After months of development it has finally been approved for sale in the Apple iTunes Store (http://itunes.com/apps/brainzapp) and it has already found a wide audience. "I was aiming for a young audience, around 8- to 10- years-old. But, adults do love it, actually," Jones said.
Jones says his friends are looking for summer jobs at the mall or as a lifeguard while he's looking to rake in the cash off his app. "Some developers make $30,000 a day. So, that's a pretty cool goal to have."
BrainZapp is available for free now in the iTunes App Store. Beginning April 3rd, it will be available for $0.99.
"It's actually really amazing to see people smile at something I created," Jones said.
Please comment and rate it for me Thank you.

Anyway, I'll download and leave you a review. Be warned that when you go free, you tend to get a load of 1 stars, but for a first effort, maybe not a bad idea to spread it around. Good luck!
