Looks cool... I tried to get the demo... but they hold the fee out of your account until you cancel.... really don't like that... :(

Well I there is a demo if you email them... It's pretty sweet playing around with it... I could see how this would be so much better to use than doing it in photoshop frame by frame....

I've been using 8 (pro) for a year now. Really great program for vector based animations. I'm upgrading to 9 tomorrow. But I would recommend the pro version if you can afford( although I think it's a steal) it, as the debut is a bit limited. especially when it comes to exporting animations.

@dhondon what is the difference in exporting? I was going to pick up the debut version.... I think I would do most of my art in photoshop and then bring it over to animate. I figured you could just export the animations as a series of PNG files... Is that possible?

The debut has no batch image export. So you have to export each frame individually instead of just exporting the whole sequence. But if you're on a tight budget an have a lot of time, then I guess its not a big deal:)
Take a look at the comparison chart before you decide ( there are some really usefull features in the pro version): http://anime.smithmicro.com/comparison.html

So is the bone-rigging system like pivots, and you can place them to move body parts?

@dhondon or anyone else that might have an opinion. I have been working with flash and exporting png sequences. Flash is fine for simple things, but seems to be a bit buggy and lacking in other areas. In your opinion is Anime studio 9 worth the investment if I already have Flash or access to Adobe Creative Cloud.

    Thanks,
