To preload art or not to preload art?

I saw the YT video online which shows not preloading art can save loading time on devices.
My graphics are going to be over 50MB, and every scene will have about 15 mb of art and sound.
Should I preload art or not?
Is it better to create a preloader splash screen like a bar from 0- 100% ?
How exactly should I create one to make sure that when running on ipad the game opens to the preloader splash screen rather than a blank grey screen for 10-20 secs?
any link to a tutorial video for it will really help.

it work fine only with GS 0.9.4?
