iPhone 4 resolution

Hello,
Newbie here with gamesalad. Forgive me as I'm sure this HAS been asked before, but the answers all around confuse me.
When I start a new project and check 'Resolution Indepence', this would mean the game will run properly on iphone 4 screen in term of graphics.

1. When I enter into a scene attribute, why would it indicate display size of 480x320, which is not retina?
2. In such case do I need to resize the display size of 960x640? You would think if you checked 'Resolution Independence' it would know to start a scene at 960x640.

    @karuzo u r doing it the right way, the size of the scenes will remain as 480x320 and u would not change it , all u have to worry about is the size of ur graphic so for example u must use a 960x640 background.

    Thanks marwanbarakat. So if I want to place background I will need to import it at 960x640 and resize it after 'dropping' the background actor onto the scene? Is there an accurate way of manipulating the background actor's size?

    @karuzo if u import a background with 960x640 pixels and then drag it to ur scene with resolution independence checked , then u wont have to resize it , it will be the same size as ur scene
