app similarity

I was wondering, are you allowed to make an app that have a similar concept than another but with different graphics? Like for example, can you make a similar game to angry birds or crush the castle with similar projectiles effect but using your own graphics? If not, what are the limits? Any piece of advice would be appreciated.

    Game play is not copyrighted but just think if your game is just like angry birds why would I buy it if I can just play angry birds? Try to put your own twist on the idea and you'll have better luck standing out.

    Alright thank you, I wasn't planning to make a game like it but you know some of the concepts are just basic so its kinda hard not to use them.
