Validatation with xcode?

Hi i have to validate my game using xcode, for application loader to work, but it wong let me archive my .app by it self. I guess its because i did not make game with xcode. When i create a mew scheme, i use ios viewer as the application and my game as the . App.
This achieves the valdiation and puts game salads logo before my game.
I hope i explained that good, My question is am i not supposed to do this?
