One was made by me (mjmdesign) and option 2 was made by EK Games and we are having an argument which one is better and so we need your feedback, thanks.

don't count the bad edges on either we made it that way so it would not be stolen

I like the simplicity and the border on the 2nd button, but I like the bigger text on the first one.

Combine those, and you should be good :)

To be honest....I don't really like any of them.

If I had to choose, I would pick EK's because there is less going on in that graphic.

Yeah... I'm not so fond of the colors. My first comment was just on design. Like I said before, if you are going to use this design, use the first one but make the text bigger or the button the same size as the 2nd one (I'm saying 1st and 2nd looking at the image you just posted).

Not feeling the colors... if it is a button I think an outline should be there but not as thick as EK did it, and not black.

In general (putting the colors aside), I would go with MJM + better outline.

    how about this image

    with a smaller outline

Not sure why you are doing it in plain black, do you have black on your screen? Still too thick in my opinion.

Also, maybe add an effect to the outline? hard to say without seeing the game graphic style.

I don't know what the rest of your game looks like, but I just want to say that it is always good to keep a continuity with the graphics and colours through ought your game.

I will be brutally honest... neither one works for me...

A button should stand out and be clearly identifiable as a 'clickable object'. Both buttons blend into the background too much. If you really need to keep that texture on the button there should be something separating it from the background.

MjMDesign - if you use an outline on the font it makes sense to keep that outline style on the button as well to make it look a little more consistent.

And what's the idea of a reversed gradient in the font - it's not helping the design or readability. I find it simply confusing.

EK's blobby circle behind the text isn't any better. His proportions are worse imho. The text looks too small in the button.

On a side note - I would start with a cleaner font - the P is not matching the rest of the font with the curve going too far on the bottom side of bulge.
